It occurred to me this evening that as much I like Facebook, LJ, Twitter and such, I find myself disclosing less information. I find that my posts are rants, complaints, or just random thoughts. I am seriously considering closing down my Social Media accounts. If the election had been one week or so later ~ I know I would shut down my Facebook page

I tend to cross-post my Facebook stuff here, but if I need a space to vent, or talk about stuff that's more personal, I come here. I can say stuff here that I wouldn't feel comfortable saying in front of coworkers or professional colleagues or D's relatives or former students. But I like how many people I've been able to reconnect with via FB, so even though it's shallow I stay with it for that reason.
