Friends Only etc.

I would like someone to explain the purpose of having a "friends only" journal? I mean, if you're going to have a sex journal, you should probably make it somewhat anonymous so your real-life friends can't find you. Chances are, the people who are your "friends" are just other LJ users you don't know, so I'm just not sure of the purpose. Is it just ( Read more... )

Well I did it partly to protect my anonymity, but mostly to allow my friends to post frank responses to my comments without worry that they are open to the public eye. Actually I even say that on my "Friend's Only" post.

No shit not work safe...It's not safe for me to work on anything now. All the blood has left my brain for other areas of my anatomy.

I keep my journal friends only so I can maintain who reads it.

I am still anonymous, but I also post racy pictures of myself occassionally and it's reassuring to know some 13 year old wanker isnt getting off on my posts.

That and I am FAR more open when I know I have selected the people who get to read my journal.

I put mine "Friends Only" because I was getting harassed by an ex-fuck who had managed to track it down somehow, and didn't appreciate that I'd told my blog readers that I was bored with him before I'd told him!

I was meaning to change it back, as it had really annoyed me to have to lock it, but instead I cheated and although I kept this as my primary blog, I now mirror it on blogspot. Where I'm pretty sure he won't go hunting!
