Rak Khun Tao Fa update

I’m back from my hols with more RKTF updates! Haa, I don’t particularly care for this lakorn after reading the detailed storyline but why oh why does it have such a powerful cast that I can’t help but keep track of its progress? The identity of the fourth n’ek has finally been revealed after much suspense to be Marie Boenner. Marie who you ask? Eh ( Read more... )

Welcome back J! You've been missed :) I have not seen Dok Soke but someone is recapping it here: http://www.kwarmmeud.com/darknesslakorns/
I haven't been feeling lakorns lately for some reason, I hope something draws my attention soon or I'll never have anything to write about, ha.
How was your trip to the US??

Hi Fia! I guess Khun Seuk didn't work out for you? I can't seem to find subs for KS though, so no comments on that show yet. I got started on MLP, might have a post out this weekend.
The trip was good ~ NY is certainly the city that never sleeps, always bustling with people and activity at any time of the day. My highlights there would be the cruise to catch the Manhattan skyline at night and watching 'The Phantom of the Opera' on Broadway. DC was relatively less 'exciting' if you will as a tourist destination with many places closing at 5+pm but I managed to meet an old friend there so it was still all good!

Dok Soke is too dramatic and extreme just like the rest of Exact lakorn. No wonder they are always below in ratings. I would rather watch a Ch7 lakorn. In the past, Exact were really good.

As for Khun Seuk, I gave up on that lakorn. I prefer Korean and Chinese historical drama. Thai still have a long way to go. I think that was really a wasted 50 million baht. Maybe I set the bar too high and in the end, it just didn't work out. But once its over, will probably speed watch it lol just for the eye candy. Aum is yummy lol

Ouch, such a shame Khun Seuk didn't meet its 50m baht expectations. I expect Dok Soke to be lots of drama + cliches from what I've read of it but I'm still keeping it on my to-check-out list for some day when my brain wants to go on a holiday. XD
Recent lakorns have been lackluster for me. I'm hoping for something to kick start my lakorn watching but nothing on the horizon seems exciting.

Marie's acting was beyond horrible in her debut, but she has improved. But she just doesn't have that sparks. And the way she talks, it just bugs the banana out of me. Yaya has at least improved on her accent, I am not even Thai yet I am bothered by it. As for Chalida, she has shown improvements and she went as far as attending speech classes. I think she has even surpass Yaya. At least for Chalida she has had a variety of roles. I am not just speaking because she is my bias, she became my bias because of what she has done. Even the 15 year old girl that debuted in Chompoo's new lakorn does a better job. I am sadden that she got this role. But I guess they are really trying to push her up by pairing her up with such experienced actors and actresses. But Ken has been on a down spiral for me. His lakorns lately are just trash lol I know I am so mean. He needs Ann. I think Ann is the one who made him who he is today. Haha. Kidding but it does feel that way.

Sooo true. Ann brings out the best in Ken.

Speaking of Ken dramas, I've actually only watched those in which he paired up with Ann!
None of the newbies have really caught my eye or maybe it's just that I've been out of touch with Thai entertainment lately??

IMHO Thai entertainment has been in the downswing for some time. There's nothing that really stands out. Maybe one of these days, please God. There's something about lakorns, when done right, that just grab my heart soooooo tight. I can't count how many times though my eyes watered by looking at silly lakorns that should have never seen the light of day. Speaking of newbies, I think most of them are in the awkward stage - they aren't experienced enough to take on challenging scripts, but they aren't exactly newbies anymore. Hence the array of mediocre stuff. No one knows how they'll end up, but my money is currently on Mark Prin.
