Paper Cut!?

Sep 09, 2008 00:49

I noticed a paper cut on my right index finger when I was taking out my contacts today. Probably because the cleaning solution was stinging like a *&%^%$. But . . . I don't remember getting it.

I think it might have come from handling my grandpa's flies. When he was alive, he tied his own flies for fishing. Some of them are really, really tiny! I ( Read more... )

Memories are always hard to deal with, even happy ones. I hope you're able to keep some of your grandfather's flies. They sound beautiful -- like little works of art.

Yay for new anime! And double yay for a new book! =)

Yeah, I'm hoping I'll get some. The way things are going, though, if I want anything, I have to tell my mother fifty times. -_-

I love my new book! Of course, now I have to rebuy the rest of the series in hardcover so that they match. I'm kind of anal when it comes to stuff like book sets, and sometimes DVD sets (especially anime DVD sets).

I finally got to watch all of the episodes on my parents' big TV. My brother watched them before I did, though, and then he got mad when I wanted to watch the ones he'd already seen.

Thank goodness my one set of grandparents saved everyone the trouble and agony of sorting through their things: they gave everything away in about 1982 and moved in a tiny apartment with only the bare essentials. Almost everything of sentimental value was personally divided amongst their 6 kids.
My other grandparents were not so awesome, but they only had two kids - one of whom is unmarried. So dividing their worldly goods was not difficult after they died.

Unfortunately, this set of grandparents were real pack rats, and they had several of everything. I mean, there were three nail guns that we found for the estate sale, and I found probably four or five more the other day when we were going through their backyard, throwing stuff away. They also had a lot of wood, and doorknobs. Like, 3 crates of doorknobs. 0.0

My other grandparents grew up during the depression, so they don't buy as much stuff, and they tend to keep their stuff forever. My grandma had a little black and white TV that she's had for years--she might still have it. She'd watch it in the kitchen while my grandpa watched stuff in the TV room.

Don't forget about the SPACE that all the One Piece DVDs will take up. T_T Oh and the movies too, gotta factor those in...

I don't remember splitting up my Grandparent's belongings when they passed. I'm certain my one aunt got everything though. :) I don't know anything about the salt shakers, do you know the maker? Maybe you could search on eBay? I dunno.

Oh, yes . . . the SPACE. Ugh. I don't have enough space as it is. ^^;;; That's why I'm so glad that they released them as thinpaks. I don't think I could stand it if they had released normal-sized DVDs.

There wasn't really any maker stamped on more than a couple of them. We ended up selling a lot of them for like 50 cents a pair. Oh, well. They didn't seem to be going for more than a couple of bucks, if that, on Ebay, and then I'd have to deal with shipping them out, etc.
