Forever Art in Palmerston North. Aidan is FANTASTIC. I saw his work at the tattoo convention in Lower Hutt and was blown away by how much it stood out from every other artist - including the two I'd had previous work done with. He's particularly excellent with coverups (which this was) and tattooing over scarring (which my arms require). Really cool guy too. :>
I whole-heartedly recommend him, definitely worth a couple of hours drive to get something like this done right! He's a really nice guy too.
Zoo internship has started out pretty good. It's exhausting and they've given me the project from hell (I don't think they realize what a dicky project it is), but it's a really awesome experience and I get to wander around the zoo. :D
White ink is very dependent on your skin tone. When it's first done it will look bright white on anyone, but the darker your skin is, the more ivory the white will go. Not a big problem for pasty-faces like me, I've got white in my rat tattoo as well. :> That is why I'll be getting it done over a second time though, it still takes a bit extra compared to other colours.
I'm really good to tattoo on apparently - I'm very pale, my skin holds the ink well, and I bleed very little. He said he's looking forward to doing work on fresh skin on me (this one was a cover-up).

I heard that white ink tends to go nasty after a while though.
