Ah, KT tape. Yeah, I had a majorly pulled muscle in the bi/tricep area, and it meant the weight of my arm just existing hurt like a stabby thing. A sling wasn't a bad idea but I had to sleep at night somehow, so we got a box of the tape and it does help. My theory is it's bridging the hurt muscle with the stronger ones nearby, so they take up enough of the load to allow for the damage to heal.
I'm glad you were able to run/walk it and my runner friends suggest an ice bath for any lingering muscle aches. *shudder* I'm told it works, even if it makes me shiver just thinking about it.
