I plan to wait until good weather so I can just go to the hardware nursery at Lowes and get some full-grown pavers, then plant them directly.

If you direct sow, the birds tend to come by and eat the seeds for their gizzard stones.

Yeah, for some reason my hyacinths don't look as robust as they usually do. They still smell fantastic, though.
