I have to admit that if i weren't into horses or sitting on my ass watching movies or reading, i'd probably have Adventure Caving on my list of great-and-totally-awesome things to do. i may have even travelled the world doing it. maybe even become particularly brave, donned a wetsuit & done the underwater cave tunnels in south america & borneo & ( Read more... )

ok seriously.... were we friends when I went to Europe? If not I'll link you to the entry where I went into these amazing old salt mines in Krakow. That was INCREDIBLE. Not really a cave but whoaa.....

It was VERY hard to take photos in there, esp since I was extremely inexperianced at that time. But they were fascinating. All those statues were carvied from rock salt by the miners when the mines were still in use. Those mines are hundreds and hundreds of years old. HUNDREDS!!!

<3 you too! That cave was so fun, and I was so inspired that when I heard about open caves on the west coast on NZ, I rushed out and bought a headlight so I could explore them! I found giant spiders... wicked. :D

Oh,I knew it. I was so interested in the photos and thinking how cool they were while all the time thinking yup, spiders, has to be. Nope, couldn't do it. Went in one once, a huge one, and that was all I could think of.

I have a wonderful book on spelunking, it has always completely intrigued me but I am sooooo scared of spiders I don't think I would last too long.
