Second one, shes cheap because shes green, half TB, 9 years old having had a lot of time off and by the sounds of it a pain in the ass to ride. I'd buy her and work her 6 days a week for 6 months and sell her. That sort of horse are normally easy to get back into work with that breed. I suspect the owner is scared of her, the advert screams to me that is the case so they dont want to ride her in front of anyone so sell her as a broodmare instead... because noone will ask to ride a broodmare.
There is also the possibility that she had an injury which will affect her when ridden, again, if sold as a broodmare noone will ever know.
Yup, I agree with all of that. The ad screams that she's an unholy terror to ride, and I'd bet the year off was when either her rider was recovering from an injury thanks to the mare or when the owner was trying to find someone who could stay ON her long enough to get her going again.
