Gotta do what you gotta do. It's all very well t o take action, but that isn't going to pay the bills. I did it once, and yeah it feels blah, but it meant I could eat that week.

oh geez. that really sucks. i'm not looking forward to that part of being a teacher. seems like we strike all the time. although that could be bc we're probably the most abused/least paid sector of the labor force too.

dude, i hate to break it to ya, but US public school teachers are like the lowest paid tchrs in western societies.

omg. i admire my colleagues for doing it and i wish i could do it, but i simply cannot afford it.
a *friend* of mine called me a scab today which pissed me right off because i am NOT. then she said, "o well, every man for himself, i say" which was another PISS OFF right there.

grrrr... nevermind that i have been a member of the union since i started teaching AND i have gone on strike previously.

I start work as a teacher tomorrow (friday). I am so fucking glad I didn't have to make a decision about the strike. Even as a union member myself I am so in two minds about it, I know exactly where you are coming from.

That's a hard position to be in, but, as my stepdad is fond of saying, "a guy gotta eat."

ouch. what a tough situation...

This is what horses do to us...or rather, what we do in order to afford our horses.

Good luck.
