Festivids 2013 -- By and by [Pride and Prejudice]

Alrighty, here's my contribution for Festivids 2013: By and By, for rokikurama, based on BBC's Pride and Prejudice miniseries of 1995. The music is Superfly by Curtis Mayfield.

The vid was great fun to make, as Mr Collins grew on me with a vengeance. I am now convinced that he has been monstrously misunderstood.

Oh, fascinating, I didn't realize there was a password. I didn't get a prompt, just an error message. But I just tried with a different expander app and it worked fine. Thanks!

You are my favorite person ever. EVER! I really loved your take on Mr. Collins and have been sneakily using your vid to lure my English lit-type friends into the wonderful world of vids. I can't even count how many times I've already watched the vid over and appreciate more of your beautiful sense of timing, use of motion, and attention to performance details each go round. Plus OMG song choice. Yes.

Hee! You sweetie. Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it so much, I really loved making it. The Pride and Prejudice 1996 miniseries is one of my favorite costume dramas ever, the kind I cuddle up on the sofa with when I'm sick. When I read your prompt, it was a bit like you were saying to me "remember that vid you've always meant to make? Now is your chance!" (Though I admit, the Cumberbunny was quite tempting, as well...) It really helped that David Bamber is such a fantastic actor, his faces and cringes and simpering and strutting were a joy to play around with. The song choice, ye gods, I really wasn't sure if it would translate to other people, or if it only worked well in my head!
