WTF is up with all the Fs?

Jan 03, 2008 22:03

Now I like to joke that the F word is one of my favorite words and, indeed, there are times when it punctuates my vocabulary a bit more than it ought to, but wow, compared to what I'm learning about people in general, I'm practically a nun.

Part of my job now is processing the opt-outs, you know people who do not want to recieve our marketing ( Read more... )

observations - interesting & otherwise, work

Ouch. I least I only have deal with voice mail. I would hate to have to deal with some of these folks directly over the phone like you do.

I share your pain!!! or.....you understand mine!!!

I get the same thing, every.single.day. (but its in person...from people who are actively making a CHOICE to come into my establishments and be asses)

I dont think manners exist anymore. no common courtesy, either. nothing. people are just rude little twits. this is VERY much not my time period!!!

I understand your pain, but I think your's is worse. I am grateful I do not have to deal with the angry rude people in person like you do - and sory that you do have top deal with that. I just get their voice mails. And while I can't understand swearing in a voice mail to a random persom who had nothing to do with the issues that peeved you, I really can't understand the motivation to swear at a random Customer Service professional who had nothign to do with the issues that peeved you in person. Seriously, where were these people raised?

this is the generation of entitlement. people walk around like gods full of pride, expecting everything (and all of it handed to them on a silver platter), simply because they exist.

I swear that is the mindset. no one is taught that they have to work for things, no one is taught the value of anything, no one is taught that you "catch more flies with honey".

its like......downloading movies and music off the internet.....and no one thinks that is WRONG anymore. its still theft, even though you didnt "physically" steal anything. but its things like that, that have a partial hand in changing the way the world works, and the way people think.....which in turn, changes peoples behavior towards each other. *nods*

thats just my .02 cents though. I could be wrong.

Oh, I hear you. Often we'll get a call from someone who wants to cancel their trip, and goes into an extended story as to the reasoning behind it. I don't care. The information I need? "I'd like to cancel my trip."

Ours are pretty well behaved, but it's tiring to have to cut off their lengthy tale each time. It also sounds like they've been practicing it, so that they can convince me to cancel their itinerary. What am I going to say, no?
