So, I do't know much about any of this, so please take everything I say with many grains of salt

That explains things perfectly, actually. My colleague (he isn't my friend, and I'm generally pretty annoyed that people tell me about the tech problems that he has, just because we're both "blind" (him completely, and me motly)) probably doesn't have the JAWS add-on that he needs on his home computer. I wanted to investigate when my curiousity got the better of me, which is what usually happens.
