First of all, thank you all for being wonderful. Secondly, I have a new job! We haven't really established what it's going to pay, and I'm guessing not much, but I'm still thrilled. And I'm going to be writing about psychology and social change, not selling shoes. Now I just hope I don't epically screw up. Or that would suck ( Read more... )

Happy entries are happiful things! They make me happy! Because happy is good!

...I sound like Kara Thrace now. Although hers was more along the lines of, "We're all friendlies! So let's all be friendly...friends." No, I'm not BSG obsessed right now. Not really.

ANYWAY.

I am sure you will not screw up. And I'm glad you're thrilled about your new job! I am thrilled about it too!

And boo for bad scheduling. D: Hopefully, you can fit them all in sometime during your 4 years! :)

AHHH! *dances*
Congrats. I'm so happy you found a job. And one that will stimulate your brain...even better! :)

Ah the joys of college. My chemistry and math classes overlap every effing semester. It's annoying. Best of luck.

YES. I AM JOYOUS. *DANCES AS WELL*

Bah, that's probably doubly annoying since that's your major and minor. What are you taking next semester, anyway?

Yay for new jobs!

Also, welcome to the brand new hell that is college scheduling. I spent six hours yesterday trying to find a class that would fit my schedule, and it's not even my ideal schedule, though I'm happy with the class that I ended up with. Good luck and welcome to the mess. XD

Thanks. :)

The thing with me, though, is that I adore scheduling. It's the funnest thing in the world for me. I've made schedules for my friends, my friends' friends, my characters, myself at every college I applied to (except, imagine that, Yale.) If you could do that for a living, I would. So it is thoroughly strange when the process becomes irksome. I've come to a happy conclusion, though. If I get into them. What schedule did you end up with?

I like picking classes, I don't like making schedules, if that makes sense? I don't think it does, but that's okay. XD

I have Practical Finite Math, which is some math for liberal arts class I have to take, German I, American Theatre History, Introduction to Archeology and Classical Mythology. I'm pretty excited for it, apart from Math. XD What are you taking?

That makes perfect sense, yeah. I love both, but I can definitely see why someone would prefer the former. Granted, I'm going to a school where people literally have parties that consist of picking schedules.

Ooh, sounds cool. Except Math, yeah. You're a History/Theatre double, right? My ideal schedule is Accelerated Hindi, Quantitative Theories of Microeconomics (aka an econ class that will count towards the math requirement), Gateway to Global Affairs, and a seminar called Representing US Slavery. I'll definitely get into the first three, but only fifteen people will get into the fourth and if I don't take it then I can't take Intro Fiction because there's this stupid "must have taken an English class" requirement that my AP credits apparently don't cover. Luckily I've got about thirty other options.

I'd love to learn Hindi! My school only offers Latin, French, Italian and (I think) Spanish. I want to be able to speak something incredibly obscure!

I'm really glad I'm only going into my first year of university studies. Choosing my classes was incredibly straight-forward; the only class that could have had over-lap was my Canadian Architecture course, which only has one available slot a week. Luckily that slot is 3:30 Friday afternoon!

Congrats on your new job and the best of luck with it!

Hindi is not obscure. Akkadian and Coptic are obscure. Yale offers 52 languages. It's kind of insane.

I'm going into my first year, too, but Yale has something like 2000 courses offered every year, and the requirements are quite flexible, so the schedule is definitely not straightforward. Canadian Architecture sounds cool, though. What classes are you taking?

Thank you!

Holy crap! Aha.

In my first semester, I'm taking Intro to Lit, Intro to History, Intro to Anthro, Canadian Architecture, and World Politics. What about you?
