It was so happy, for a few moments. I had just been talking about how someone on CollegeConfidential had been accepted into Pomona already. I was breathless, running back to the car with the big envelope, ripping it open to reveal the folder covered in "YES YES YES YES" in all different fonts. there are plenty of scholarships that you can get outside of schools. Apply for some.

well, congratulations on getting in. and perhaps I'm confused, but I'm pretty sure in a past entry you said your family couldn't pay any tuition (0 on the fafsa, specifically), so how is it your mom could pay? slash it seems like she could, and you want to go, so...

The $1.3 million home, plus a pretty large retirement account. However, after much angsting contemplation, I've realized that my real problem isn't whether my mom will be alright or not. It's my brother. Everywhere he's looking at is $50,000 a year, and I do not want him having to go to a second-tier school because I had to have the first tier.
