Lock you up for "protection"? And it doesn't even matter whether you want to? Why would they even do that? It almost sounds like the same reasons the people here won't let me leave the village. Protection from that curse or something.

We're supposedly a "national treasure" and must be kept from all harm. We're like animals in an exhibit; we're hardly living any more. I'd rather be dead than live to be old in some colony where I can't leave.
