I got Wicked for Christmas -- I'm reading it now, very slowly because I've been RPing and moving and doing the house stuff. Weirdly enough, I haven't been wanting to read. heh.
Wicked and Son of a Witch are on my "want to read" list.
I looked up 23 Minutes in Hell on Amazon out of curiosity. It sounds intriguing. Can you elaborate on what it was about it that leaves you with the "I don't know" feeling? Reading the description of the book reminds me of a movie that was out when I was a kid, I think it came out in the very early 80's and was one of the first "life after death/near death experience" movies. It was compiled of people's real life experiences. Anyway, one of them was of someone who attempted suicide and her experience wasn;t of seeing a comforting light, etc, she saw Hell. I remember it scared the crap out of me! I wish I could remember the name of that movie. I'd love to see if it's on DVD.
It was weird to me because it wasn't a "life after death/near death experience" type of thing. I have heard those, and while his description of hell sounds the same as what I've heard, and goes along with what the Bible says. Or I think so.
Anyway, this guy was a believer. A born-again Christian, and fell asleep in his living room and woke up in hell. Then Jesus comes to him and takes him back to his life. Basically, he says that Jesus let him experience hell as a non-believer (while he was there he didn't remember that he knew God or something like that) so he could tell people about it so they would not want to go there an accept Christ.
I'm not doubting that this could happen. God can do anything. It just left me... unconvinced? It's hard to describe.
Interesting. I might have to check it out ... just because. Oh, and the movie I was thinking of is Beyond and Back - it doesn't look like it's on DVD though. Figures.
