I found this featured on a table at Half Price Books and snatched it up.  Shorto traces a brief biography of Rene Descartes and the passage of his bones from hand to hand across Europe over hundreds of years, and interlaces it with the effects of Cartesianism on the development of modern Western thought.  Besides ( Read more... )

Excellent pun! At first I thought the subject matter wasn't right for an interesting book, but obviously the author found a way to engage his readers.
