Thief of Joules that is...

This project is pretty simple and everyone has built one so I might as well join in too.

Would it be useful for flattening rechargeables before recharging them?

This depends on the battery type as for the most part "most" rechargeable batteries have very specific charge and discharge curves you have to maintain in order to get the most power and lifetime out of them an that is all based on the battery chemistry.

So, what type of batteries are you using?
