Finally ... progress!!

Jul 07, 2012 17:04

There has been a brief lull in the rain today, so I've actually managed to get out in the garden for an hour or so, channelling my inner Sprout. I've put up supports for the first crop of peas, planted the second crop (about a month late!), and picked five pounds of gooseberries and a nice big bowl of blackcurrants. Gooseberry crumble tomorrow, I ( Read more... )

Well done on everything! The garden here is positively bursting - I think all that rain's gone straight to the courgettes, by the size of them. Might I suggest a gooseberry fool? *salivates* So tart!

Both walking and bathing are great for inspiration - I miss having a bath. A walk in shower is all very impressive, but really not great for taking a book in :)

And yay! for finding your Snape!

I love gooseberry fool too, so that will probably be on the menu at some point as well! I've only picked the gooseberries from one bush so far - there are half a dozen more to go. They've done really well with all the rain, as have the currants. Unfortunately the raspberries, which are my absolute favourite thing in the garden, are rotting before they're ripening, and the blueberries don't seem keen on the weather either! And my carrot seedlings were obliterated by slugs. Where's that Flesh Eating Slug Repellent?

Your rain seems to have come visited us in the form of a bit of a drizzle. A relief for everyone. Gooseberry crumble sounds delish!

Yay on the writing. Maybe this drizzle will inspire me some too :)

Good luck!

You're very welcome to the rain. Please, take more of it! I'm not sure I've found it very inspirational, though I don't think it's coincidence my fic has ended up set in autumn rather than summer!

I envy you your rain. It's horribly hot here (it was 36 by 11 a.m.)!

But, YAAAAAAAAAAAY for story time.

Yep, that qualifies as hot! I'll admit I am more of a winter girl - I'd probably moan even more about excessive heat than I do about the rain. My younger son was born during a heat wave - not the most comfortable time to be pregnant!

Yay for progress! I can't wait til it starts posting! I assume you already have a beta, but if you don't (or if you need an alpha or a cheerleader), you know where to find me.

Yes, I'm assuming I've already got a beta as well, but thanks for the offer! It's going to feel like ages until these stories post, isn't it? I'm really looking forward to the glut of great SSHG fic / art when it happens, though!

It will feel like an eternity before they start posting. And then it's an embarrassment of riches to please even the most gluttonous reader. I can't wait! Every day for months, usually 2 or even 3 new posts ...

~sighs happily just thinking of it~

Cool! Writing in progress sign is up then. Me, I'm starting to have problems. I feel like my story has one or two chapters missing , so I'll need to take care of that.
