In the original text, which version of "love" did they use?

They used Agape in the original Greek. Later, in the Latin Vulgate, they used Caritas, which basically means dearness, affection/charity. Now, Agape, basically falls into the charity category; it's Christian love. But, Wikipedia defines it pretty well.
