He kneels down and cuts the ropes, and covers the man with a blanket to start with, but then pulls out his sword to start working on healing the worst of Renji's injuries.]

[He shies away from the touch, gritting his teeth in a mix between pain and protest. Renji opens one eye, the other swollen shut... but he can't focus his jumbled thoughts on anything.]

[He doubts much is getting through, but hopefully the soothing tone will help, and he's working as fast as he can, setting up a healing field while he attempts to use his zanpakuto outside Renji's line of sight. He doesn't want to frighten him.]

[The name did make him relax a little, recognizing it even through the haze of drugs and agony.

The feeling of cold steel makes him tense up and he tries to curl up more, to avoid it even if the pain to move is terrible.]

[She just stared eyes widened, mouth falling open.] A-a-a-Abarai kun.... ABARAI-KUN.

[She shacked her head, the tears that began to come to her eyes left at the speed that she shock her head. She ran over as fast as she could. She bent over, and checked his pulse... I hope he is okay, please.]

[Someone was screaming his name and he couldn't place where it came from. Renji was too drugged up on opium and pain to even register that she was taking his pulse, but it was there.]

[She sighed out of relief... at least he is alive... but who did this to him?] A-Abarai-kun can you hear me? [She paused.] If you can't speak at least nod so I know.

[he groans slightly, trying to move away from her touch.]

[Renji's absence went by unnoticed to her, though by no fault of her own- she assumed him to be in Seireitei. After all, there was no reason for him to venture back into the Neutral area. She herself could not cross the border, despite one almost desperate attempt of pretending to be her Shinigami self.

So long as he was happy and properly cared for, she would be... satisfied. That was what she told herself countless days. However, there was a part of her that selfishly wished to see him again.

Seeing him this way is not what she had in mind. She stops in her tracks, eyes wide in shock, before rushing to his side.]

[Her voice cuts through the haze of agony and drugs, and he tries to move his bound arms and open his cracked lips to speak, to tell her to run before she's dragged into this mess as well.]

[She stares at him, trying to see what's wrong and what can be done. There's a certain fear evident in her eyes and face, an underlying shakiness under the drive to remain focused.

She goes to carefully take the rope off his hands, fumbling slightly with her hands.]

You must not move, it will only worsen.
