I do not like the Paint on my computer, either. It has virtually no capabilities. And I hate that I have to throw in percentages to shrink an image instead of being able to click and drag the edges. Sorry, no tips here, just commiserating. I can't even remember how I used to make my icons. There was an invisible text bar, though, I know that! So you can add in words. Took forever to get the font/color/size right so that it was legible, though. Yours turned out well!
Yeah, I thought the wings were the arms until I looked at the actual statue itself.
Yeah, I was trying to figure out how to shrink the picture...it was gigantic!!! barely saw 1/6th of the pic on the page at one time. Hahaha, I hand-wrote the words with the pencil tool....that took a loooooong time. And then I had to redo for spacing issues...
