You never grow up. OK. There's no absolutes (except that one; what a pretzel). Of course you grow up. But given the right circumstances, you can find yourself inhabiting emotional spaces that you arrogantly thought were long behind you. Having kids sure changes things. It's like this. It probably doesn't sound too sincere (as I have not visited in so long), but I will miss your family. That said, it's really good that you're going somewhere new.

so did he not say anything because he's truly disappointed, or did he not say anything because he was just finally getting used to having a son that he found that he could enjoy (thanks to your reproductive ability), but now you're taking that away from him?

either way, it seems that both are selfish on his part. and that's always a bummer because we're taught that parents are supposed to be there for their children to reinforce the positive things in our lives and downplay the negatives. some parents do the exact opposite though.

on a side note: even though i've decided to hide myself from most of the world, and everything's grown apart, i'd still ike to be able to keep in some form of contact.
