Everyone who's ever driven with me knows this: I drive fast. Some people, my mother in particular, are terrified of this. To them, it represents an increased likelihood that I'll get into a car accident. To date, in five years of driving, I have been in a grand total of...one. And how fast was I driving? I've had a radar detector for 3+ years. ;) But yeah, I understand what you're saying. Allowing just anyone to drive just any speed, with no minimum or limit, is dangerous because it relies on the judgment of others. That's always a scary prospect.
