It's very common for men to kiss each other on the cheek in Middle Eastern cultures, much more so than here in America. It's not an indication of homosexuality at all -- not that I condone Ahmadinejad's medieval take on homosexuality.
I am well aware, but to do that and then act like homosexuality is *so different* that it doesn't even exist in your country... it's a bit ridiculous to me.
the upside of all this public male affection is that, for many gay men in some middle-eastern countries, it's easier to carry on same-sex relationships because close male homosociality is so well accepted. men can have private parties just with other men, hold hands in public, etc., without arousing too much suspicion.
