I agree... I was just thinking the same thing about Jonas. Jonas was in trouble in the pic at the table hehe. We didn't want him to fall into the lake, which he seemed determined to do, so he was pouting.

OH! We dunked Chlo in the Kaskaskia River recently and the collar A. shrunk cause it was leather and B. the pretty olive green came off cause she didn't seal it right.
i agree with the marketing thing. we are very careful with jack's food. he gets organic fruit and veggies and we read every label in the "natural" baby food section before deciding what to buy him. so far earth's best has been the winner.
pay attention to the meat they are eating!! in toxicology we're learning about how specific chemicals affect developing reproductive systems in kids, and a lot of them concentrate in the fat of different kinds of meat. it's stressful to think about it for me, but i think just being conscious of it is a big step. there's lots of websites that do justice to explaining how the main toxicants make it into our food and how to protect ourselves from them.
We usually buy the leanest hamburger, but there aren't a lot of options around here for organic meat.
We just watched a documentary about vegetables and how most of them aren't all that safe/genetically engineered. grr.
I also just went grocery shopping on an epic level and bought kraft ranch and ketchup and saw the bad stuffs on the label AFTER I bought them. I am thinking i'll just return them.
Another marketing thing I hate is heinz ketchup saying that their seeds aren't genetically engineered and yet they add HFCS and other shit to the recipe.
