Has anyone taken the GMAT recently? How much/what type of studying did you do?

I took it an did pretty well. I took a class my senior year in college (you may remember me skipping that class a lot) then years later bought a few books. Princeton Review is hands down a better way to prepare in regards to both books and classes.

I would say though, if you are driven enough and like have can motivate yourself you dont need the class- but it was helpful for me. What was nice about princeton review was that they teach you not so much the material (you should know that by now or what not), but the tricks and how to take the test.

I can give you all my old books if you want, but i think they reformated the test right after I took it. I can talk more about this with you when I get back from Rhodes, as my mind is kind stuck on anatomically perfect sweedes and Italian girls in cocktail dresses. heh.

I took it about 6 years ago....my job at that time paid for me to take a class to help me prepare for the class, which was really helpful, considering, those tests don't judge how smart you are, but rather, if you have been trained to know how to answer their weird loaded questions. I didn't have to study too much outside of the class....but if you can't find or afford something like that, I would just look online, amazon.com or something for books and study guides.

BTW, my friend went to fashion design school with you at Wayne State - I had no idea! Michelle...and I can't remember her last night before she got married... she said she did the fashion show at the shelter with you. Anyway, she rocks.

i took the GRE, which like someone else said, is very much the same thing. i used a priceton review book. i pretty much just read through it and took a few practice exams. i did study some vocab but it never helped. if anything, the book helped me in choosing correct answers rather than knowing words. i did pretty crappy on the vocab but that was expected. i did okay on the quantitative section but i didn't study math at all which i should have.
