Once a year, gang, you can head out to comic shops, load up on free swag and have a great time. This year, if you're in Louisiana, you can even meet a full 50 percent of the cast of 2 in 1 Showcase as we record a special location episode of the podcast at BSI Comics in Metairie. I've never been to a free comic book day before. Hell, there's not a comic shop here. In fact, there's not even comics for sale. :(

So how does it work? Do you get to pick one of each or is it just a case of a limit of some kind?

Oh and I second the JSA. At last, the DC universe seems to have more cohesion than Marvel.

It varies from shop to shop. There are 28 different titles being offered this year, although not every shop owner orders copies of all 28. (The books are free to the readers, but the retailers still have to pay for them.) Some shops give you as many as you want, some shops may set a limit, it depends entirely on the manager.

If you happen to stumble across that rare jackass who isn't giving comics away unless you make a purchase, walk out and find a new shop.
