Same here. I've heard of this writer but I had no idea what this book was about - thanks. It does sound challenging, not to mention long, but I wouldn't mind reading it. I'm curious though, what is the fantasy element of this book? It wasn't really clear, and it doesn't sound like YA either.

whoops, think I saw "1785" as the number of pages! (368pp isn't all that long, after all!!) Have you really read that many books this year?? Sorry for the scepticism, but...really? Impressive!
