Newspaper Clippings

I hadn't realized Crowd got 5 nominations for GMA this year, which means he's got the second most nominations to Jay's 8:

What's Crowd most worried about when it comes to GMA?  Is it the competition, Jay Chou grabbing all of the awards, or what?  Apparently, he's most worried over what he's going to wear that day.

This clip comes from "World Journal," as mentioned here.  Both papers I have are in Traditional Chinese, but "World Journal" also has Zhuyin in the children's section (which means I should find my Zhuyin-Pinyin converter to use for the characters I don't recognize):

There's even a comic strip, which made me laugh.

From "China Star," here's a photo of Jennifer Chang:

She's played for the Emperor and Empress of Japan as well as Bill and Hillary Clinton.  About her performance for the president and first lady, Ms. Chang says, "I sensed the freedom and welcome from America that Mr. and Mrs. Clinton brought to China during their visit; but I felt that America was a world where my Chinese music remained to be heard.  I dreamed of being able to demonstrate the richness of Chinese Guzheng music."

Ms. Chang now teaches guzheng and performs in "the Triangle" of North Carolina, formed by Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.  Carolina Ballet artistic director Robert Weiss was inspired by her performances and came up with a suite of four dances called "Choreocalligraphy."  Ms. Chang is the guzheng soloist for its performance.  She has also worked with the Raleigh Civic Orchestra and the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, but is currently a member of Mallarme Chamber Players.  On June 14, she played in "An Evening of Cultural Diversity in Music" along with Ukranian accordianist Eugene Kobinsky.  She played traditional pieces as well as more modern pieces.

One of Ms. Chang's students, Dongmei Chui, said of her, "The most distinguishing feature of Jennifer Chang's ability is that she absorbs herself entirely into her playing, so her music is able to take us into her imaginary world."

Needless to say, the only thing keeping me from going to see her at the moment is distance.  Here's another YouTube clip of her playing, though:
