ну, там дальше написано, что автор начал знакомство со слэша. и этот аспект (поведение в постели) все-таки чаще всего является предметом слэша (и гета, конечно). джен по определению асексуален, менторский/родительский фик типа севитуса/северитуса - тоже.

huh. thank you for the link, very interesting.

what i find intriguing that what they describe is very close to what causes vehement anti-slash (presumably anti-het and anti-femslash as well, though i've seen less of it) sentiment: as if including sexual component into lives of the characters that fic author examine defiles the characters somehow. this always read as weirdly sex-shaming (and usually, sadly, homophobic: as if suggesting that character in question is gay, bisexual, pansexual etc. is additionally violating them) to me: exploration of sexual relationship being considered unworthy, talked about in condescending terms, dismissed altogether etc. since i find the overwhelming (if sometimes misguided) sex-positivity of fandom one of it's appealing features, this position, for a lack of better terms, thoroughly weirds me out.

what bothers me (in discussion in this post and similiar ones around) is the implied violence of the reaction. it's not stating the preference, it's a strong moral judgement, wrapped in borderline dehumanizing language, and i do wonder what sparks it: the tabooed topic of sex itself, the implied queerness or possibly some sort of gender censure where it's uncouth of woman to talk about sex and/or enjoy it?

returning to the original text, i wanted to ask: have you ever seen shortbus? i remember having incredibly strong and cathartic emotional reaction to it simply because it explicitly and plainly showed sex as simply another way people (mis)communicate with each other, with full range of emotions and reaction, without treating it as something titillating or dirty. it was - incredible to watch; if you haven't, i can't recommend it enough.

Очень интересно. Вот тут в комментах мелькнула фраза про положительные ролевые модели.
Уже не нов тезис о том, что слэшерами становятся от отвержения традиционной женской ролевой модели. Когда девушке (подавляющее большинство слэшеров ведь девушки) проще вообразить себя в шкуре персонажа мужского пола, чем искомую модель отношений в гетеросексуальной паре.
Тогда какова польза от этих ролевых моделей, если их нельзя применить к себе? Если проще абстрагироваться от своего пола, чем от гендерных стереотипов в культуре, то следовательно, в ситуациях, когда от своего пола абстрагироваться никак нельзя, воспользоваться всем, что нарефлексировано и понято во время построения моделей, следовательно, тоже нельзя, нет?
