Hiya guys! Just wanted to let you know that the new challenge is up at bog100.

Challenge 21: ALCOHOLAlso... I'm... sort of frustrated, because we haven't had a single drabble post in a month. I tried getting feedback via poll about whether it was the length of challenges, but I got very few responses. So... I'd like you guys to comment here to let me ( Read more... )

I keep meaning to but other things (such as non-drabble stories) keep getting in the way. Are the rules of the comm that once the week is over, you can't post something from that challange? Or can you just post a drabble from that challange anytime? I think having a deadline is keeping me from exploring those challange prompts...its one thing to have a challange, but when I'm given a time constraint it just feels like a homework assignment, which I think is factor.

Anyhow, I'm going to try to drag Chazzmuse out of his drunken stupor and coax out Jimmymuse with some skittles and see I can't squeeze out a hundred words here and there.

That's how the rules work right now, but I'm looking at changing/modifying them so that we can get more posted. I'll just let you know that next week will be an amnesty week, where you can write for any of the challenges that have been given in the past that you missed.

I've written I think two drabbles so far... I don't write very much, tending to stick only to icons and fanvids if I do anything. I would love to write more, however college has recently started and I've got a few RL things keeping me from being able to write something satisfactory. Another thing is that I'm my own worst critic, and often don't post things that I begin to write.

I used to be the same way about not posting. ladyjj yelled at me and made me do it!

I love her for it, though.

If you DO manage to write a drabble, please, please, purty please, post it. We need the activity!

I like the time constraint; I think without it, it would be easier to just keep putting off writing the drabble for another day.

I always mean to sit down and try to write something, but I just started college, so I barely have time to read fic, much less write it. Often, I'll see a new prompt and be like, "All right, I'm writing something for this one!" And then I go to class and start on homework and I forget until the next time I check LJ. I actually started a drabble for one of the recent challenges, but I decided to make it a larger one-shot instead. It's just waiting for me to put the finishing touches on it.

Having said that, I think it would be nice to have another amnesty week, like the one a few months back, where people could write for any of the recent challenges for a week. I liked that. And I promise to write more. =)

That's what I think about the time contraint. I'm just not sure how to work around it... I'll come up with something though.

We're gonna have an Amnesty week next week... I was going to have one at Challenge 18 and then 19 and then 20... I think it's the perfect time for it now. :)

1) Are you a member of BoG 100?

No, but I guess I will be now :)

2) Do you write drabbles or are you just there to read?

I can't write to save myself, so I'll just be there to read :(

We need more readers and commenters though! Sometimes people don't post because they think no one is reading!
