I'm not sure what I think about this new year's eve. For a plus I have Matthew here with me for the first time ever, which is great, but on the minus we're confined to our room due to dad getting drunk and stomping around the house swearing and insulting people. It's really putting me on edge. I'm constantly worried he's going to do something cruel

A new year, such a strange time. It's an odd lens, yes, that unfathomable possibility - unreadable, and denied but for the steering anchor of one's drive and ambitions.

Freedom has enticing value. Yes, in that scope, I wish you both well. With it's prices and it's balance, I hope your collective intelligence allows you swift progress and a powerful direction.

... I relate to some of your present social hardships. I believe the tolerance you develop now will be most valuble to you in the future.
