Hn.

Not a week ago, our fair city was being terrorized by some frightening new beast, capable of hiding behind the guise of our loved ones. Even still there could be more of these creatures roaming the streets...yet now the only thing anyone can speak of is the sudden lack of essential supplies.

They are both problems.

Yet from all the complaining it seems like the populace can only focus on one at a time. Is the mind really so simple, or are we blessed with an unfortunate abundance of fools?

Most beings focus on the more immediate and harder to stop danger.

But once one danger passes, they just forget. Like it never even happened.

Pondering the intelligence of Discedo's population?

It's not as though there's much of it to consider.

I suppose it's better than taking on the inconsiderably long task of trying to sort through their stupidity.

I suppose so. I doubt many would even have the patience for such a thing.

History is prone to repeat itself... it's a painful fact.

Perhaps. But perhaps not as often if everyone would stop ignoring it.

I'm not sure if it's ignoring or simple forgetfulness...

Also, we seem to get new people every week...

The population here isn't always steady, so information about previous events wouldn't be remembered as easily compared to a city who's residents don't flow through like this.

There are plenty who haven't gone anywhere. When they can switch their complaining so easily from one thing to the next without a second glance, it becomes willful ignorance.

Tell me something I don't know.

Each new wave of panic is simply a dull repetition at this point.

It's like the news back home, one thing after another for a couple days until it's forgotten. In other words, monster attacking is just yesterday's news.

It's no surprise this place does the same.

They treat it like the end of the world until something else comes along. Like it didn't even happen. Like it didn't even matter.
