[The device turns on as it gets knocked to the ground. For a few minutes there's nothing but the sounds of things being thrown across the room and crashing to the ground. Somewhere in the middle of it is the flapping of wings and frantic chirping

[She stares back flatly...and makes no move to release the bird.]

[She looks away, back towards the window. She might - maybe - be hesitating. The bird chirps pitifully.]

He is mine. I won't let you touch him.

[She gets the idea. Healing powers, is it? She's not that surprised. She doesn't give it up just yet, but her resolve is weakening. She assumes you're going to do what you want whether she gives her permission or not. One last try though.]

If you fix his wing, I'll just break it again.

[She gives that condescending little laugh again, but she's stopped caring. This is too much of an annoyance - she's too tired to fight it.]

Is that all you can threaten me with? And here I thought it would be more interesting.

[She turns back towards the landlord and holds the bird out, though her grip doesn't loosen.]
