It was spring. A warm wind was blowing through the branches of the cherry trees making them tremble. A young Japanese was leaning against the trunk of one cherry tree. The wind played softly with his black hair. Now he was standing here again. He had been here innumerable times since that one day. But this time it was totally different.

Some blossoms were falling down on him and the boy sighed deeply. He had closed his eyes the whole time and looked at the blossom on his shoulder. After a while he took one of them carefully and watched it in silence. But then he released it, so that the blossom could fall to the ground and he looked up again.

A slope extended right before him and behind it you could see the sand and the wild ocean with its waves rushing towards the beach. You could hear the wonderful sounds of the ocean and the screams of the sea gulls. This calmed the Japanese down every single time he stood here.

It was all so familiar for him and nearly everything was same. Yes. On that day was standing here, too, watching the ocean and listening to its sounds. It had been spring, too, and all the cherry trees where blooming. But still something was different. Something - somebody - was missing to complete the image.

One more sigh escaped his throat. The boy closed his eyes slowly and started to remember how it had been on that day. He remembered every single detail and had to swallow hard. Tears were waiting at the rims of his eyes. He hated himself for being so week and not being able to hide the tears. He would love to show more strength, but he failed every single time he stood here thinking about the past. It seemed as if it would never end. But was it so surprising? No, it wasn’t.

The Japanese lowered his head and one single, lonely tear ran down his cheek and fell down on the ground. At that time it had been worse. At that time he didn’t have himself under control, because on that day exactly one year ago his world broke into thousands of little pieces for the first time.

Because you’ve been here… You haven’t been with me like you promised. You left me all alone…
