eh i've had good and bad experiences with recruiters, my best advice if you don't hear back within a week call them to get an update and ask questions about the hiring process. Often times recruiters deal with so many potential hires, or contractors that are already familiar with the process that they often assume people should already know what to do and what to expect. You need to take charge and be on top of the situation and get as much info from them as you can.
