Captain's Holiday Request and Challenges
Seasons Greetings to the Whole Crew!
Time's slipping away and everyone is extremely busy, I know, but I adore Holiday stories, so this year I'm requesting / challenging all members to the following...
1) If you've written a PotC holiday story in the past, or have read one you love by another author, post (or email me) a link! I'd like to make a Holiday Recs page, both on Black Pearl Tales and here on blackpearlsails.
2) Holiday Drabble / Ficlet Challenge -- Write a drabble or short story with a holiday theme. I'm not specifying which holiday, but there is a bunch of great information on Christmas in the 18th century at this potc_universe post, with links to other great sites. The holiday was celebrated very differently back then -- most of our traditions began in the 19th century, some in the 20th.
3) Secret Santa Drabble / Ficlet / Artwork Exchange - If you'd like to participate in a Secret Santa Exchange, send me an email (geekmama@gmail.com) with a character or pairing and a prompt ASAP -- no later than Sunday, the 16th, and I'll match you up and email you with your assignment by Monday the 17th. Since it's so late, the deadline will be January 1st, though posting by Christmas gets you an extra ration of rum punch!
Short but sweet is the order of the day for #'s 2 & 3, although if your Muse inspires a multi-chapter Holiday saga you won't hear any objections, I assure you. But let's not let the season of giving pass by without celebrating with some great stories (and Art, too)!
