Oh my goodness! Look what I've been missing. While I only post on DW, I read posts on LJ. Weird, huh? Very happy to hear from you and see what you're working on.

Lovin' all over bullet point 2! Yay, you!

4 & 4a I keep wondering if there is such a thing as Covid brain. While there are neo-Nazis, some ppl are just neo-Nutzos. Did you hear about the man and woman who painted over BLM in Martinez? That's a few miles from where I live. It's in front of the courthouse where I report for jury duty. There was even a local couple on a business zoom call who had a confederate flag hung on the wall behind them. WTH is going on?

People are REALLY losing their minds over this.

I was having what was a decent enough conversation with an older friend on Facebook, a while back. I noted that the nations who were controlling this thing well, had done it through testing and contact tracing, and we obviously needed to do that here.

One of her friends popped in to say I obviously needed to read the Bible, implying that "we need testing and contact tracing" meant, "Yes! SIGN ME UP NOW FOR THE MARK OF THE BEAST!"

Like, dude. I've read Revelation. I ... you're STILL NUTS.

So great to see you back!!!!

And yay for improving health! It's wonderful.

Since I'm a liberal, everyone I know is flagellating themselves over being racist. Stop with the guilt, start with the action, say I. At my age it's too dangerous to march, but I'm going to see if I can register voters. I mean, yes, we're racist. But actions mean more than words.

Yup, if you grow up white in America you are pretty much going to catch the racism virus. It's endemic to our entire culture. Beating yourself up over it is annoying as hell and not helpful at all. We're not at fault unless we become aware of it and refuse to treat ourselves for the symptoms.

I've been around over on DW for a while, not realizing -- because I never get "this didn't crosspost" failure messages -- that things weren't making it from there to here.
