The funny thing is i am just rereading all the Sandman comics for the first time since high school / college. Right before this reread i read the Lucifer spinoff and remember thinking that Mark Pellegrino would still be a perfect fit for Gaiman's version if they ever made it live action.

What i am really curious about is how they would pull off all the non human elements. They would need a killer effects team.
