Isn't it awesome? The boys needed angels and the angels needed the Horsemen and the Horsemen needed the boys! IT'S A GREAT BIG CIRCLE OF WIN.

Your brain makes my brain hurt.

Question: When did we learn that the five things the Colt can't kill are Lucifer (well, yeah, we know that from experience) and the Horsemen? Are we extrapolating the Horsemen? I don't remember specific reference.

*iz dense*

Lucifer says it in 5.10 Abandon All Hope (go to 34:00). It is a guess what it can't kill, but it seemed most likely since... well, how would you kill Death if his scythe is the only thing that can kill him (ala 5.21)? Kinda makes it a given.

*toddles off to find the section. Watches Dean shoot Lucifer. Watches Sam get excited that it worked. Watches Lucifer recover and backhand Dean into a tree.*

Okay, I see where you're coming from. What Lucifer says is that there are only five things in all of creation that the Colt can't kill, and he's one of them. It makes sense that the Horsemen would be the other four (as I said, I'm dense sometimes), but they're not specifically referenced.

(I don't remember who wrote it, but there's a fic wherein Dean is trying to list the five things that the Colt can't kill, and the results of each "experiment" in that regard.)

Anyhoo . . .

ETA: Aaaaaannnd . . . I didn't see your edit until after making my response. Yes, the solid extrapolation makes sense.
