I don't use a tablet, but I *think* my friend oftentimes sketches it, scans it, then works with the tablet?

I suure do like the charcoal effect you have goin on tho! It looks great!

What exactly are you failing at with drawing? Is it the sort of disconnect between the motion of your hand and what appears on the screen? It took me a while to get used to how the tablet area was in exact correspondence with the monitor area, and that I couldn't pick up my pen, move it, put it down again, and have that be in the same spot (or vice versa, not move it, and have that be a different spot), like you can with shuffling around a piece of paper.

I don't have any real advice, though. It just took practice to get used to. Your brain makes the neural connections eventually, or whatever.
