Mako had decided to go have a swim to cut some stress on his shoulder. Swimming was the one thing Mako did, and liked doing. However, Mako couldn't believe that he could swim this straight for so far. It felt like an endless volume of water around him. Stopping to have a rest, Mako saw his demise: No land anywhere. So he did what came naturally in times of crisis: "SETO!"
There was no response. Panic began to set in, only to be derailed when an odd shape came floating lazily down the river toward him, then became caught in the reeds. Curious, Mokuba picked his way carefully toward it and realized that it was a body--specifically, Mako Tsunami's body.
If this was a nightmare, it was a very, very weird one.

The prospect of being all alone in an unfamiliar place was slightly worse than the prospect of being all alone save for the company of Mako Tsunami, so Mokuba, after a bit more dithering, grabbed the man by the arm and attempted to drag him ashore. It was slow work, and Mokuba ended up sweaty, exhausted, and caked in mud up to his knees by the time he'd pulled about half of Mako's upper body up into the mud. Good enough, he decided.
"Hey, freaky fish guy!" he shouted at the unmoving body. "C'mon, wake up!"

That was it. Mako wasn't awake. This was all in his mind. How long have I been like this? What's actually happened to me? But more importantly, how do I get out of my head?
