For fuck's sake, NO. No one outside of Mexico has died from it, there are only about 80 cases of it in the U.S., and it seems that if it's caught and, you know, treated, that people are fine.

YAY! You made my day =D I am so sick of this panic.

There was one death, but it was in a 32 month old baby which isn't unexpected for a flu.

They shut down all of the schools in the Ft Worth (major city south of me, right by Dallas, makes up the DFW metroplex) school district. Hurrrr. I think there was actually a kid who had it, though. I don't know, I wasn't paying attention.

My government professor is of the opinion that people are so freaked out because it's infecting people who are, theoretically, very healthy. Fuck if I know, though.

The only reason I can think of to be worried is if it really catches on fire and spreads, we are right in the age group that it hits hardest, like The Spanish Influenza in 1918. But that's it.

Am I worried about it? No. I live in Vietnam and rainy season just started. I'm far more concerned with a mosquito giving me malaria or dengue fever. Or perhaps catching something from poorly prepared food/dirty water. Even with vaccines, you can't account for everything.
