When comfort's hard to find

A friend of mine lost her father yesterday after a long and brave battle with cancer. I know she's sad, hurting, devastated and bereft and there's nothing I can do or say to comfort her.

Those are two very beautiful poems. I am sorry to hear of your friend's loss and I am glad she has such a good friend like you to turn to :) There are never enough words, but sometimes a little hug speaks louder than words anyway.

In the past I've turned to poetry. I wrote loads when my dog died. So far I've been very lucky that non one close to me has died, but it is something we shall all have to face eventually.

It has been quite shocking to work where I am, in the time I have been with them, two colleagues have passed away both from cancer. There have been others also....

It helps if you can believe in God and that there is a reason for all this. But sometimes it's so hard to believe, isn't it?

Anyway a big hug for both you and your friend xxx
