I got a call from MedClinic today.

There's an opening for surgery on my right hand on October 19. There was a cancellation.

I haven't let them know yet. It is in two weeks. My parents say I should go for it. So do Trops. And I was knocked over when I got the call; I spent a half-hour just pacing around going, "OMG ( Read more... )

i haven't read the trop thread yet, but my immediate reaction is: yes. go for it. you know you're going to need it. recovery will be just as hard if you do it all now than if you wait to heal, then do it all again. and it would be done. you wouldn't have it still looming in the future.

I think you should do it. It might be hard, but I can only imagine that it would be harder to wait and wait. Of course only you can imagine what it would really be like for you, but I hope you consider just doing it.

Abby... I say you should take the surgery slot. just get it done with.then it won't be some horrible thing in the future. yes, you will be dependent on your family for a while during your recovery but you've been saying that your left is still useless... you would've been dependent on them if the surgery was next year. i say take it, get it over with, and then you can put your life "back together" without it hanging over your head. *hugs*
