Except we have numbers that show that it is working. And I wish they'd stop perpetrating the lie that a wand can be waved and everything will be fine. It took 20 years and a war to get us out of the depression of the 30s, FFS. How can none of these crazies know that?
Apparently, he won the first Republican debate a few weeks ago; I didn't watch the whole thing, but I wasn't impressed by his answer to questions about a strategy for Afghanistan. That said, he was being more honest than anyone else on the dais.
I was just thinking about this guy yesterday when I saw the headline that he'd announced his goal to run. He can't win the RNC primary--at least not in my head. The Republican Party has done such an adequate job inciting fear of blackness in their own constituents in order to build anti-Obama hysteria, this black man--with his "dark skin" and much more "discernible negro dialect" doesn't stand a chance. Sad to say that's the case in postracial America.
--NTL, he seems like a respectable guy, as far as politicians go anyway. Very Booker T. in picking himself up by the bootstraps, but certainly lacking Booker T.'s more holistic, complex view of race and racism--unless, like Booker T., he's just a master at manipulating white fear, white guilt, and white faux-superiority. That remains to be
