Folks keep alleging there's a blackfolk "clique" but never say who's in it. I wanna know, who's in this clique? Do you think you're a "cliquer?" When do you all meet? How do new members get in? Do you have clique jackets? A step routine?
I don't think there's a clique. I think there are people that are active in the community and are friends outside of blackfolk, whether it be on LJ or irl. Should people that are good friends pretend not to know each other so no one feels left out? Some people just want something to bitch about, but e-popularity is where I have to draw the line. That shit is ridiculous. The only people I recognize around here are people from other communities (most sf_d) or people I have personally interacted with.
I know this question wasn't meant to be too serious, but this is such a huge pet peeve of mine.
I don't think anyone comes off as cliquish at all. I don't go to the movies and pout over the group 2 rows in front of me because they're not hanging out with me. They're not my friends!
Well, I didn't mean to say that I found them cliquish. I meant that is why others might find them cliquish. They see people who have known each other for a long time/IRL responding to each other without knowing their relationship to each other and think that the same people just like ganging up on others.
I don't feel there is a clique, and even if there was, I could give a rat's ass. This isn't high school. People are allowed to respond to whomever and however they feel. *shrug*
