wondering where in cyberspace he should post this lyric:
"Everyone was messaging like it was going out of style
It was just the cynic in me
God i love communicating!
I just hate the shit we're missing"

Won't Amanda Palmer be in for a shock when she realizes that newspapers brought with them a whole host of problems, mergers were worse in the Gilded Age, people have been freaking out over instant communication since at least telephones with party lines, and there have been concerns about new-fangled innovations preventing introspection since at least the novel. Actually since hair ribbons. Do not even get me started on railroads. DID SOCIETY SURVIVE THESE ADVANCES???? TUNE IN NEXT WEEK.

P.S. Despite the above comment, I retain the right to be grumpy about teenagers being on my lawn with their Twittering and their texting and what not. DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT. I am large. I contain multitudes.

Multitudes of surly, cranky, cane-wielding fogeys, each more obstreperous and obsessed with keeping their grass child-free than the last.

GRASS WAS NOT MEANT FOR CHILDREN.

Incidentally, I just want stated that I know I have problems with Amanda Palmer that Michael does not share, so I just want it clear that this is not a her-specific complaint. Deep Englanding-style things always bug me (especially coming out of people whose success was primarily thanks to the internet).

I think that you're just angry because you were thinking "Amanda Palmer hates texting too! Oh wait, maybe not quite so much ( ... )

Didn't her lyrics used to, you know... rhyme occasionally?

Uh, so those are only four lines out of the song. And it also happens to be one of the parts that's a little more conversationalist in its delivery.

(without passing judgment on her lyrical decisions, I would like to point out that there's actually two lines in the whole song that actually rhyme)
